| The Avalon Region comprises the whole of the Avalon Peninsula, including
Trinity and Placentia Bays. This region of Newfoundland is home to the provincial
capital St. Johns, and is also the most populous of the five regions. Known
for its historically significant landmarks, beautiful capital city, dramatic coastal
landforms and quaint fishing communities. Every community is a picture postcard
of tiny houses surrounded by a spectacular seascape. All parts of the peninsula
are within a few hours drive of the province's capital city, St. John's, and its
newest city, Mount Pearl. |
